The Philippine Ceramics Arts and Crafts Center (PhilCeramics for friends) was established in 1976 in Tiwi, Albay, Philippines to preserve and promote the art of pottery in the region. Training, development and promotion of the work of potters through exhibitions have been the centre's main mission since its foundation. Decades later, PhilCeramics boasts unique works of art in a welcoming environment where the craft process can be admired from inception to the final touches.

Pottery from this corner of the Philippines is tied to its territory and tradition: local clay, techniques passed down through generations, and motifs often taken from nature - flowers, leaves, animals. This has encouraged the preservation of traditional designs and also allowed local artisans to experiment with new forms and techniques that have evolved over time, creating an ever-changing blend of tradition and innovation.
